RAF Regiment Team Completes Three Peaks Challenge for Combat Stress with Support from KGM Musso

Supporting a good cause often means going the extra mile. For a team of serving RAF Regiment personnel from Field Support IFPT, it meant travelling more than 1,000 miles and climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales – all within 24 hours.

On 2 May 2026, the team took on the famous UK Three Peaks Challenge to raise money and awareness for Combat Stress, the UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health.

Their route saw them climb:

  • Ben Nevis in Scotland
  • Scafell Pike in England
  • Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) in Wales

By the time they crossed the finish line, they had covered 26 miles on foot, tackled thousands of feet of elevation and spent the night travelling between mountains in a race against the clock.

A Challenge for an Important Cause

Combat Stress provides specialist support for veterans experiencing mental health challenges, including PTSD, anxiety and depression. Through treatment programmes, counselling and community support, the charity helps former service personnel rebuild their lives after military service.

The RAF Regiment team chose the challenge to raise funds and awareness for the organisation's work, taking on one of the UK's toughest endurance events in support of fellow members of the armed forces community.

A spokesperson for the team said:

"Completing the Three Peaks was a huge test, but we were determined to see it through for Combat Stress. The charity's work for veterans' mental health is vital, and we wanted every mile and every climb to count."

Two KGM Musso Pick-Ups Supporting the Mission

Covering more than 1,000 road miles between mountains requires dependable transport, particularly when every minute counts.

To support the challenge, KGM Motors UK provided two Musso Saracen pick-ups, helping the team move efficiently between each stage of the route and stay on schedule throughout the 24-hour challenge.

Whether carrying equipment, transporting team members or tackling long motorway stretches between climbs, the Musso pick-ups played an important role behind the scenes, allowing participants to focus on the demanding physical challenge ahead. Their combination of towing capability, load-carrying practicality and long-distance comfort made them well suited to the demands of the challenge.

Completing the Three Peaks Challenge demands careful planning, teamwork and perseverance. From the first steps on Ben Nevis to the final push up Snowdon, the team demonstrated remarkable commitment to the cause.

Kevin Griffin, Managing Director of KGM Motors UK, said:

"We are proud to have supported the Field Support IFPT team as they completed an outstanding Three Peaks Challenge for Combat Stress. This was a demanding undertaking that required determination, planning and teamwork, and the cause is an important one. Providing two Musso Saracens was a practical way for us to support their operation and help the team concentrate on completing the challenge and raising awareness for veterans' mental health."
