Five Standout Features of the KGM Musso EV

The all-new Musso EV has officially landed at our UK dealerships. It's our first fully electric double-cab pick-up truck, built to balance real-world electric range, serious towing strength and practical payload capacity, all wrapped up in a head-turning design for a bold, contemporary presence on the road.

Musso has stood for tough, dependable pick-ups since it first arrived under the SsangYong name, and today sits alongside the Musso and Musso Rhino as the range's electric option.

BatchReviews has put together a new video walkthrough of the Musso EV, highlighting its key features and giving a clear sense of what it delivers, with a heavy focus on how it performs in real world driving scenarios.

James Batchelor, a professional motoring journalist, presents the video and highlights five standout features of the KGM Musso EV.

1. Bold Design and a Smart, Comfortable Interior

Built on more than 55 years of pick-up expertise, the Musso EV takes everything the Musso name has stood for and brings it confidently into the electric era. Here's a nice bit of trivia: Musso comes from the Korean word for rhinoceros, a fitting metaphor for a truck built to be strong, tough and ready for real work, now backed up by modern electric technology.

Up front, a sculpted bonnet, signature LED daytime running lights and a chunky, high-volume bumper give the Musso EV real presence on the road. Along the side, the elongated c-pillars give the double-cab a stretched look making the overall design look sleeker than traditionally styled competitors. Finished with diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED rear combination lamps, the Musso EV offers both style and practicality

Inside, the cabin is just as considered, built around a panoramic widescreen display that integrates two 12.3-inch screens, a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment display, running KGM's latest Athena 2.0 interface and angled towards the driver for easy use on the move. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 3D around-view monitoring system, including a clear-sight ground view feature, which really helps when driving off-road. Comfort is just as strong a focus, with heated and ventilated front seats, eight-way power adjustment, two-way lumbar support, dual-zone climate control, and heated rear seats with a sliding and reclining function. Useful touches like USB-C ports, wireless phone charging and an after-blow function that helps reduce odour over time round out a cabin designed for work and play.

2. Serious Payload, Towing and Everyday Practicality

The Musso EV has a maximum payload of 690kg, a serious number for an electric pickup truck, with a load bed that's genuinely usable thanks to moulding around the top edge for a finished look and eight tie-down points to secure your load. A self-levelling suspension system keeps the vehicle level and stable, giving you more control whether you're fully loaded or towing.

Speaking of towing capacity, the Musso EV is rated to tow up to 2.3 tonnes, putting it right in the zone for a lot of real-world towing needs, including many trailer loads and a good number of caravans. If you are new to towing or want to understand legal limits and best practices, take a look at our guide to safe towing. The tailgate is reinforced to support up to 150kg, so it doubles as a work surface or bench: we designed it to seat two adults, so you can drop the tailgate, sit down and have a brew, job done. Thoughtful touches like damped tailgate cables for smooth opening and closing round out a bed that's been properly thought through for daily use.

For business users, the Musso EV also makes financial sense: it's eligible for the Plug-in Van Grant (PIVG) of up to £5,000, and sits in a Benefit-in-Kind band that makes it one of the most affordable pickup trucks to run as a company vehicle.

3. An Efficient Electric Powertrain Built for Real-World Range

At the heart of the Musso EV is an 80.6 kWh battery with cell-to-pack construction, a way of packaging the battery for better space efficiency and energy density, along with battery preconditioning to help improve charging performance, especially in colder conditions. On the WLTP combined cycle, the Musso EV can manage up to 290 miles of city driving, and on a high-powered DC rapid charger, a 10-80% charge takes as little as 36 minutes.

The Musso EV also features Vehicle-to-Load capability, so you can plug in tools, equipment or leisure gear and power them directly from the vehicle, no generator required. Regenerative braking is adjustable in three stages using the steering wheel paddles, and a smart regenerative system can automatically adapt based on road gradient, traffic flow and even speed cameras, making it easy to drive efficiently without thinking about it.

4. All-Wheel Drive Performance with Genuine Off-Road Capability

Electric power means instant torque, and the Musso EV puts it to good use through a dual-motor, full-time all-wheel drive setup, one electric motor at the front and one at the back. Combined output is 207 PS and 339Nm of torque, enough for a 0-62mph time of 7.9 seconds. The system constantly analyses each wheel's performance and, if it detects any slip, redistributes torque accordingly, whether you're on loose gravel or tackling a muddy track.

For those heading off-road, the Musso EV offers a 20.2° approach angle, a 24.3° departure angle and just over 181mm of ground clearance, not extreme rock-crawling territory, but well within range of what's needed for fields, tracks, campsites and work locations.

5. Advanced Safety Features and High Strength Construction

The Musso EV uses a high-strength body structure with extensive use of high-tensile steel, and comes with eight airbags as standard.

A comprehensive suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems is also included, featuring adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot detection and driver monitoring. Whether you're navigating the motorway, working a busy site or exploring further afield, the Musso EV is designed to support and protect you.

Built for Real Work with a Specification That Stands Out

The Musso EV is backed by the KGM 7-year, 90,000 mile warranty, providing complete confidence and peace of mind, alongside a 1 million km battery warranty for further reassurance. With bold design, a smart interior, genuine practicality, an efficient electric powertrain and comprehensive safety, the Musso EV is designed to make working life easier and everyday driving more enjoyable.
